OUR TEAM
We are Shifting Lab
Shifting Lab is a union of four young professionals. A multidisciplinary group where the heterogeneity of experiences and of project approaches add up towards a common vision: shifting from a linear to a systemic view.
Shifting Lab addresses complex and current issues related to circular economy, responsible consumption, social inclusion and green innovation. The individual and its impact on the environment are the center of the group’s research and work.
HERE WE ARE
CHIARA
ARCHITECT AND PROJECT DEVELOPER
Passionate about travel and social issues. During her studies she integrates these two areas by developing a thesis on the redevelopment of a favela in Brazil. After graduating she decided to specialize in sustainable architecture by collaborating with the studio Eco Design Architects & Consultants in Cape Town, South Africa. In 2019, she won the “Barcelona Prize” to investigate issues related to Ecodesign, which she is currently working on.
GIULIA
SYSTEMIC DESIGNER AND FACILITATOR
Graduated in Systemic Design at the Polytechnic of Turin with a thesis on slow tourism, she works combining the holistic approach with participatory tools. In 2019 she won the Barcelona Prize and worked with the ELISAVA University and Slow Food for the regeneration of the Mercat de la Terra. From October 2020 she is the facilitator of the participatory ecomuseum process of the Comuniterràe project, in Piedmont. Since April 2021 she has been attending the ProPART Master at the IUAV University of Venice.
FRANCESCA
SYSTEMIC AND USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNER
Passionate and convinced that design can improve people’s quality of life and facing the greatest challenges in the world, such as those related to environmental sustainability. After a three-year degree in product design, she decided to deepen her interest in environmental issues through the master’s degree in Systemic Design. She wants to apply her knowledge and systemic methodology to propose solutions to the environmental and social challenges of our contemporary society.
MARCO
ARCHITECT AND EXECUTIVE PROCESS MANAGER
Dedicated to the management of design and executive processes, looking for a balance between technique and aesthetics.
He’s interested in environmental aspects, and carries out constant research on technologies, materials, self-construction and participative processes.
Co-founder of the architectural studio Studio TOTALE in Florence, he constantly collaborates with Cultural and Social Promotion Associations.
